Attendees: ber, jmiz, bub, onno, wesley, emil, jared1 We setup an iChat with jared on the continent and he seemed to have hung in there through most the meeting. mo was AWOL. We talked about panther installation, the 12" powerbook, safari help. Were doing a live install demo in a 15" iMac. It blue-screened so we power-cycled it and moved on. Looked a bit at onno's art. Chatted about how wesley might recover data from his b0rked disk. Discovered like jmiz, wesley lived up Kingston way. A bit of general discussion about what Unix/Linux means with respect to "free" and Microsoft abd why one might want to work with one or the other. Onno brought wesley up to speed on programing topics as they both seem to be coming from an artistic space. Sort of an extension of last month's topics - C++, what intro CS books to read, etc.. We talked a little about digital cameras and photography. Pulled out Gerard Holzmann's Beyond Photography: The Digital Darkroom, from 1988. The install on the iMac failed so we reintalled it. Onno dropped his atomic fireball. Wesley took home an Apple branded plastic shopping bag. 1 virtual *at Hollandsche Rading |
