Attendees: ber, emil, ike, bub, rien1 We talked of RAID, the tool closet, routers and chisels. We have more books and emil put something togther so you can see what's in our library. At the moment it's http://easthouston.org/nlesmuug/books/booklist.php. We chatted about airport and a little problem I was working on to be able to save a server's state and restore it after an erase-install. We spoke of nicl/niload/nidump programming and file pushing.. Then there was iSync iPod and bub and emil talked about digital cameras. Emil recommended a look at dpreview.com. Ber, rien and emil went across the street for ice cream. Bub held the fort. Ike showed with a pack of heineken and then went across the street for ice cream. Upon his return he was awarded a keychain for his review of Mac OS X Security. As we were talking about some of the odd titles we get from publishers I mentioned I had received a copy of a fuzzy logic book and we donated it to the public library. Ike pointed out that was the book he had asked for as a gift for doing a publisher survey. Oops. I should have known since I did the actual ordering. I was right, it was a weird title. We had a laptop with opendarwin and spent some time trying to figure out how to eject the cdrom. Actually emil and I spent some time on it. Ike figured it out pretty quickly - disktool -e disk1. The next opendarwin challenge was how to determine the type of filesystem. Ike again - disktool again. The guys figured out darwin's CVS and we sucked down the complete source. ARD worked. We looked at a demo of the next Snapz Pro X. Extremely impressive video capture. 1 for ice cream and photo taking*at Hollandsche Rading |
