Attendees: ike, ron, bub, ber We looked through Peachpit's Help Desk Essentials from their Apple Training Series and fixated on the split-half search concept. Coincedentally, Ron brought by the Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server Essentials Student Guides from a training class. We did some clamshell battery debugging. Fortunately we had one upstairs so were able to run the swap-test method. Discussed Patsy's Pizza in Brooklyn - "under the BKLN Bridge, from Camden Plaza to E. River". Also noted there was a Patsy's Restaurant on 57th in Manhattan and maybe another. We decided to use the worldnet to locate one at 19 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn. Mad fun hopping Airport base stations, to get a battery report from the 3rd floor clamshell. google site:lesmuug.org to search high-value meeting notes. Discussed serveradmin(8). Dismantled the batt.sh script to see why it gave crazy readings on the 3rd floor clamshell. Conversation moved to the Olympics and Gerard Holzmann & Björn Pehrson's The Early History of Data Networks, DLExpo, Pogue, asr(8), psync(1), rsync(1), rdist(1), Retrospect and "lsync - dupes/merge(?)". Ron's battery charged from 9% to 10% in the 3rd floor clamshell and that was it. Bad battery. We talked about batteries some more and the various modes of the OS X calculator. Then about hand-held calculators, DEFCON, using email headers to trace origination, forging IP addresses and called it quits at 9:10pm.
