Another November, another Thanksgiving LESMUUG, thank goodness.

We talked about voting technology, voter education, etc. and then moved on to Tiger. Blojsom is the web log server shipping with Tiger, so we talked about it. We figured the word had some linguistic significance but it's just blosxom with a 'j' instead of an 'x', and then left-shifted.

Ike spoke of the Redhat Syndrome in Tiger where enterprise customers are offered a half-assed graphical interface to front normal interfaces. So it looks all gooey in the marketing but it's insufficient to get the job done and since you have to use a regular interface anyway the marketing interface just gets in the way and sometimes is actually damaging. I think that's what he said.

Jabber is the IM server for Tiger so we chatted about it.

9:00 we adjourned to the dining room for the traditional November lesmuug meal, watched The Apprentice and started all over again beginning with autodiskmount.
