To deal with wake from sleep I would think you could open a shell and  
cd into the mounted filesystem.  For mounting on boot you ought to be  
able to diddle the mount tables in netinfo.  I can test the theories  
in a few days when I get near a machine I'm willing to boot or put to  
sleep.
