I forgot to mention I found http://www.songbirdnest.com/
which looks like a great solution, everything the people want
(accept free copyrighted music). Mac and Linux version should
be out real soon now, but for now it only runs on XP...

For now, I went ahead and used itunes, and found a bunch of my
music previously 'lost' in my itunes db...
