Hi,
I just had a hardware question, not too related to the list, but just wanted to throw it out, because it's been wracking my brain.
I've got a 12" ibook G4 1.2ghz. the usb ports appear to been blown--they just stopped working one day. I installed the usb polling software from Apple, and it doesn't detect any of my peripherals whenever I plug them in. One of the two ports appears to have power (powers a little usb led I have), but neither can read my usb memory stick.
It's out of warranty, and I was wondering if there are any DIY options to replacing them. I think if I took it to the store, they'll have to replace my entire logic board, which costs $500+.
Thanks!
