Message-ID: Can anyone make a recommendation of someone who specialises in Apple data (hard drive) recovery? A friend has a zonked out HD and I don't want to get sucked into doing it, esp. since TekServe already told her they couldn't help her. Also is there an alternative to TekServe (not counting TAS, obviously) that offers reliable reasonable Mac service? cheers, Forest M -- "In theory, theory and practice are exactly the same. That's a pretty expensive process because it requires the clean room and specialized equipment. I haven't looked in a couple of years, but before that the best price I could find for that kind of service was approximately constant for a few years at about $700. I wish I could recommend a particular company to do the recovery. I've never been able to afford to get it done when I needed it, so I don't have any good advice about which company to use. Good luck with it. I hope that either her drive isn't completely dead yet or if it is, that this kind of service is cheaper these days. -Patrick On Sep 4, 2007, at 3:29 PM, forest mars wrote: > Can anyone make a recommendation of someone who specialises in > Apple data (hard drive) recovery? > > A friend has a zonked out HD and I don't want to get sucked into > doing it, esp. since TekServe already told her they couldn't help her. > > Also is there an alternative to TekServe (not counting TAS, > obviously) that offers reliable reasonable Mac service? > > cheers, > > Forest M > > > > > -- > "In theory, theory and practice are exactly the same. > In practice, they're completely different." > ------------------------------------------------------------------ > Switch to Name.Space: http://namespace.org/switch > Support new domains & keep free media free!
